I want to give a game ball out to Jason for thinking of putting his lyrics up, and a half a game ball to Mauer for realizing to do it before I did. Â After all, this is a songwriting competition. Â That being said, I will post mine in this blog as well. Â Game ball also goes out to Charlie for garnering some solid press for his efforts thus far, check out his blog to see what I am talking about.
You might be wondering why when you click on the tab on my page that says “Read Their Blog,” it takes you to Dan Walkner’s Blog. Â Well the truth is that Dan and I are actually the same person. Â Some nights I am the mild mannered, polite, sober, punctual singer of The Mighty Short Bus. Â But others, I am the hard drinking, skull crackin’, lady killin’, slide guitar slingin’, blues singin’ monster badass in Clovis Man. Â Notice how you never see us in the same room at the same time??? Â Well now the secret is out, so come see me play in both of my forms. Â But don’t tell me about this when I am Dan, I will probably pretend like I don’t know what you are talking about.
I’ll see if the webmasters at 105.5 can fix the blog glitch.
Here are the lyrics
Nothin But The Summertime words/music; Frank Busch
I don’t remember, the last thing you said to me.
I think its safe to say, it was just as soft and sweet,
As your sun-drenched skin, and your long dark hair
No one ever looked so good, just lying around in their underwear
I must apologize for my forward speak and my one track mind, you see,
I can’t stop staring, when all you’re wearing is…
The summertime,
We’ll move in slow motion.
It blows my mind
How you smell like sugar and suntan lotion
I’ll never find,
Anyone who looks as fine as you,
Wearing nothing, but the summertime.
I know a place, its not too far away,
Its got trees and they’ve got leaves
Blockin’ the view from the old highway
It’s just an old fishin’ hole my grandpa used to show me when I was young..
When I was young.
You and I should take a drive with a picnic blanket and a bottle of wine.
Do some truth or darin’, till all we’re wearin is..
The summertime
Tramps like us got nothing to lose
It blows my mind
How you shake off your dress and my summertime blues
I’ll never find
Anyone who looks as fine as you,
Wearin nothing, but the summertime
I can’t help starin, when all your wearin is…
The summertime,
You’re the only thing better than Barbeque
You blow my mind
That’s why I fell in love with you..
I’ll never find,
Anyone who looks as fine as you,
Wearing nothing, but the summertime.

I bet your wife cried when she heard this. It’s really pretty. As I bet she is.

Frank, you’re an awesome song writer, an awesome singer, an awesome musician, and an awesome performer. You never disappoint. As much as I love Springsteen, the tramps like us line could of been better. Don’t get me wrong, it’s still a great summertime song.

Thanks for the comments, I love em. Not married, but my girlfriend is very pretty. When I go to record this song, I will consider replacing the Tramps line.. but with what? :-/

Dude. Very pretty? She’s freaking HOT! The tall chick with long blonde hair you were with on St. Patty’s Day at the Goat? Hot. I’d say you’re the lucky one man! Love your music man! Keep it up!

Actually the tall blonde is just a friend of mine. She was actually there with another girl. Does that make her even hotter lol

Loving the songs. Love you girlfriend (in a purely sister-in-law kind of way) and love you. You have made some really nice music the last 2 weeks. Keep it up!
