this week has been incredibly long… already. do you ever have those days when you really just don’t want to work? for some reason, that’s been my whole week thus far.

i didn’t get kicked off the first round, so that’s neat! i beat my goal:)

so the new challenge… hmm. i don’t know if i am over-thinking it or what? my book is DuckTales: Secret City Under the Sea. and well DuckTales is difficult, because this book is a part of a series. it doesn’t have a clear beginning or a clear ending. we are not allowed to use story lines or characters from the actual book and so, i’m wondering about the ambiguity of what we will be judged on with this song.

this particular story ends up with the ducks sailing under water… can i write a song about that? if i don’t make any other allusions to the book, is that enough? “inspiration” is a capricious thing, i’m just afraid i may not entirely get what the judges are looking for, or really, what anyone watching is looking for out of a DuckTales serial. For me, what it boils down to is good-natured adventure and friendship whether it be the ducks or anyone/thing else. So, i guess we’ll see, i just hope the judges have read these books enough to get the connections.
