Milwuakee
There is a real shortage of good live music venues in Madison, maybe even more so in Milwuakee.  We are lucky to play at the Ale House, it's been there for a long time and has always had bands.  I remember going there when I was 20 years old and seeing Greg Koch and the [...]

rock bottom
I do believe that no one is reading these blogs of mine.  For a while I was featured under the blog heading on the website, but no more.  Thats ok though, most of my blog posts were shit anyways.  Just ramblings about how cool I am supposed to be, what a rockstar life I lead. [...]

Like a Purgin'
So I got the flu... I hate getting sick, but whatever, every year about this time it seems to happen.  I spent an entire night ridding my body of everything it had in it.  I mean everything.  Seemed to me like a good time for a fresh start. Some backstory,.,,  We had our trailer stolen, it [...]

The Ghosts in the Barn
Silence.  I am in the silence business these days.  Not all silence is created equal.  The silence at night after a huge snow in Wisconsin differs immensely from the silence in a tiny basement apartment 4 blocks from the Pacific Ocean in Hermosa Beach, CA, or a monstrous church that has been designed to make [...]

Hey everyone!

Monday marked the end of spring break, and this week I’ve found myself thrust back into the education system. Lately school has been a source of much frustration. Going to college is basically like having a full time job. And with my part time job on top of that, there’s hardly any time left for music! I am in fact sitting in a lecture hall as I write this (paying close attention, as usual).

Last night we had a show at the Frequency with Empire State Express (Chicago) and Coming Undone (Florida)–it was a great time! If you haven’t been to the Frequency before, make sure to go check it out. Darwin Sampson, the owner, is awesome. He will hook you up with some amazing sex machines. That’s a shot, by the way. Get your minds out of the gutter.

This is normally the spot I’d insert a funny story or anecdote, but my life has been strangely uneventful in the past couple weeks…school, work, school, work, and then some schoolwork. So our next Project M challenge is to write a summer song…which really IS a challenge considering the nasty weather we’ve been experiencing lately! I don’t know about you, but I have definitely not been walking on sunshine. But in a couple months it will be summertime and the living will be easy. The summer breeze will make me feel fine. There will be girls that wear abercrombie and fitch, but watch out for that chinese food cause it could make you sick. And if your girl leaves you, have no fear because she’ll probably be back after the boys of summer have gone.

Okay. That’s all I’ve got. Peace out home skillets.

Well today has already been an extremely productive day for me. Grocery shopping, spring cleaning…Yep, I’m an exciting one.

I guess I’ll start off by telling you all a little bit about myself. I am a 21 year old homo sapien–did you know that that’s latin for “wise man”? I live on a beautiful planet called Earth…My given name is Huilin Wang, but most people just call me Anna. I work at a little restaurant on Willy Street called Umami–Japanese ramen and Chinese dumplings! Yum! If you get hungry stop in and pay me a visit!

My band is called Anna Wang and the Oh Boys! We just played a show at the Argus last Thursday and a protest gig at the Orpheum Stage Door last Friday…it was pretty sweet. Rockin’ out for a good cause. Our next show will be March 23rd at the Frequency–come check us out!

I like the underpants, man. My friends Ali and Shannon made a ton of them for our shows last week and passed them out…pretty hilarious. And amazing.

And now, off to scrub the kitchen counters and clean out the microwave…But I will leave you with one of my favorite signs from the Capitol.

.

Peace out home skillet

x
